KVCC Food Hub

A person wearing a brown jacket is smiling and holding several cucumbers in a greenhouse filled with green plants.

We are so blessed to have a Food Hub in our community. We have worked with staff from the KVCC Food Hub for close to 20 years. The Food Hub allows us to buy from multiple local farms with great ease. The bonus for the farms too is that KVCC does all of the transportation– picking up from the other farm and delivering it to us– all through a convenient online ordering system.

We are so grateful for the Food Hub. Because they are supported through public education at KVCC, they can remain in operation because it is best for the community, not because they make a lot of money doing it. It is so important to have organizations like the Food Hub that are weaving a web of a strong local food system– not because of profit, but because it the way to be resilient and sustainable.

We purchase items from KVCC Food Hub directly– including early season cherry tomatoes and herbs. Other local partners with the Food Hub include Bird Song Farms, Mattawan Artisan Creamery Yogurt, Green Wagon Farm, Omena Organics, Fruit Haven Orchards, Crisp Country Acres, and other small local producers.

The Food Hub is only available to wholesale partners to buy and sell, so as a consumer you won’t be able to buy items directly from the Food Hub. Know that tax dollars are hard at work, perhaps invisibly, each week connecting farms and buyers with local food.
